Woodford
24/25 August
This Year's Championships will take place near Woodford, north of Brisbane.
The weekend is being organised by the young Sunshine Coast Orienteering Club with assistance of Toohey Forest.
The area has been recently mapped by Rob Simson and will offer orienteers a new challenge in an area as yet untouched for orienteering. Courses in all age classes will be offered. Graham Galbraith, an experianced NSW Orienteer, recently relocated to the sunshine coast will set courses for one of the days whilst the other day will belong to 17 year old Dane Cavanagh who is following on from his challenging courses in the Xmas 5 Days. Course Controller is Lynda Rapkins.
Woodford you will like. Here is a town that is all rural. Here is a lovely wide street like all towns should have. Here are lovely shady trees, lots of vehicle parking, plenty of toilets. And each Sunday there is the Durunder Steam Train Museum. Ride on a genuine vintage steam train.
